Tue, February 28

Today we moved out of Cedar Dr. The sale of the house turned sour when the new owner (who had offered a cash purchase) informed us that he may not be able to close on time. This was not an option for us, as we had already shipped our belongings to London, arranged travel plans to see family and friends in GA, SC & FL, booked our flights to London, and even paid three months upfront for a flat in London, too.

The buyer then informed us that he could make the closing two hours later, but that we could not stay in the house until our departure as agreed. Thanks to Mary (our realtor) and good friends John & Phyllis, we were able to get all our belongings out of the house and had somewhere to stay the night until we sorted ourselves out.

At the closing, the new buyer never said a word to us, leaving us with a sour taste in our mouth. Not exactly the way to bid farewell to the home we had spent the last 6 years in!
